Position Overview:
The Manager of Security Operations is accountable for overseeing and ensuring the effective installation and operation of all Public Safety applications within the Security Operations Center (SOC). This role serves as the primary point of contact for Public Safety leadership, Information Technology Services (ITS), vendors, and departmental leaders.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a corporate supervisory or management role is required, with experience in communications, call center, or healthcare security. Preferred experience includes 2 years as a Supervisor in a high-volume call center.
- Licensure/Certification: APCO Public Safety Telecomm I certification is required; APCO Training Officer or Instructor certification is preferred. Designation as PSP by ASIS or CHPA within 3 years of employment is required.
- Essential Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of current and emerging trends in the field, including regulatory standards, policies, and procedures related to law enforcement and information systems. Proficiency in the equipment and software utilized in the SOC is essential. Strong skills in interviewing, selection processes, budgeting, staffing, payroll, and purchasing are required. Demonstrated ability in team building, conflict resolution, and interpersonal relationships is crucial. Proven leadership capabilities and the ability to work effectively with a diverse team to achieve organizational goals are necessary. Must possess total knowledge of all systems used at the SOC, including access controls, alarms, CCTV, and emergency communications. Completion of all required training programs and competency assessments is mandatory. Must be able to communicate effectively under pressure and maintain a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Risk Management policies.
- Preferred Skills: Experience in security, law enforcement, or military communications is advantageous.
