Position: Chief Engineer
SUMMARY: The Chief Engineer at Summit Hospitality Incorporated plays a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of all hotel facilities. This position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of guest accommodations, meeting rooms, public spaces, and operational areas. The Chief Engineer will report directly to the General Managers and will be tasked with executing repairs and maintenance on various systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen, and laundry equipment, as well as the external physical structures of the property. Additionally, this role involves supervising a team of engineers and maintenance staff on a daily basis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-3 years of experience in maintenance or facilities management
- Proficient in computer usage
- Team-oriented with a focus on achieving goals
- Experience in repairing mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry systems
- Able to provide training and guidance to team members on daily maintenance tasks
- Experience in managing external vendors and contractors
- Ability to identify safety hazards and address them promptly
- Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Fluent in English, including speaking, writing, and reading
- Availability for various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Customer service-focused
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure guest satisfaction through friendly and efficient service
- Maintain HVAC systems, boilers, electrical systems, carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, and landscaping
- Conduct preventative maintenance to uphold hotel quality standards
- Assist in repairs of plumbing systems, fixtures, and kitchen/laundry equipment
- Proactively troubleshoot and assist engineers with IT and building systems
- Adhere to corporate and brand policies and procedures
- Support training initiatives within the hotel
- Maintain properties to meet or exceed quality assurance standards
- Lead safety procedures and participate in the Safety Committee
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
