Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to join our team at Peraton. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality training programs and materials to support the DOD/DISA Training Academy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Conduct needs assessments and strategic learning assessments to develop the basis for curriculum development and update curricula.
  • Instructional Design: Interview subject matter experts or conduct other research to develop instructional content, present and make recommendations regarding course design, technology, and instruction delivery options.
  • Training Program Management: Provide analytical support for the design and development of training curricula, learning strategies, educational policies, and courseware standards and obtain client approval.
  • E-Learning Development: Develop instructional materials and products (Instructor Guides, Student Guides, student exercises and activities, and assessments) for instructor-led and online courses for adult learners on a government site.
  • Instructional Aids Design: Design instructional aids for stand-alone, instructor-led classroom, or online use.
  • Training Evaluation: Assess effectiveness and efficiency of instruction according to ease of instructional technology use and student learning, knowledge transfer, and satisfaction.
  • Course Improvement: Review student feedback surveys and develop and implement course improvements to address feedback.
  • Training Transition: Review existing instructor-led curriculum materials and recommend content to be transitioned to a blended-learning delivery method.
  • Online Course Development: Plan, design, develop, and implement online courses and training videos for hosting on the customer network or a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Training and Mentoring: Train and mentor instructor staff on instructional strategies and methodologies, course delivery techniques, and assessment validation.
  • Training SOPs: Review, maintain and update training and curriculum development SOPs.
Qualifications
  • Education: Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD, 12 years of with HS
  • Certifications: Bachelors degree in Education or related field, Military Instructor certification or the ability to obtain an industry instructional design certification (Modern Classroom Certified Trainer).
  • Clearance: Active Top-Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI and PSD access.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of the ADDIE (or SAM or SAT) model instructional design methodology.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience using one or more course authoring tools (such as Adobe Captivate, Premier Elements, Camtasia, Articulate, etc.).
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently. Be able to collaborate with teammates, government officials and stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
  • Multimedia Development: Preferred Experience with Multimedia Development: Skills in graphic design, video editing, and multimedia production.
