Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement food safety and quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with USDA regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements and quality initiatives.
  • Provide training and guidance to production staff on food safety and quality assurance procedures.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and records related to food safety and quality assurance programs.
  • Investigate and resolve food safety and quality issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Develop and implement HACCP and SSOP programs to ensure compliance with USDA regulations.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field and 2-3 years' experience in the food industry.
  • Knowledge of USDA, FSIS, HACCP, and SSOP requirements.
  • UDSA/HACCP Certified, preferred.
  • SQF Certified Expert, preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to uphold regulatory, company, and customer standards.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Working Conditions

The work environment will include a combination of office and plant settings. The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
