Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at HHS. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for developing and managing a highly trained and driven team that produces high-quality food that meets food and work safety regulations.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of chefs and food service professionals to create innovative and delicious menus for our clients. You will also be responsible for managing inventory, ordering, production planning, schedules, payroll, and supplies to ensure budget compliance for the department.

Responsibilities
  • Protect the quality and integrity of all food produced in the food & nutrition department
  • Manage inventory, ordering, production planning, schedules, payroll, and supplies to ensure budget compliance for the department
  • Develop creative menus for the facility's cafeteria, and catering programs that are in sync with current market trends
  • Create an atmosphere in the department that fosters great team morale, passion for quality, and respect for each other
  • Hire and train new team members in a manner that sets them up to be fully competent and passionate about our food programs
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines
Requirements
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree from an accredited culinary program is preferred
  • In lieu of formal culinary training, a minimum of 5 years experience as a Sous Chef or a Chef in fine dining establishments, hotels, resorts, and/or country clubs
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Fully competent with Microsoft Office, ordering platforms, and email communications
  • A passion for food, a desire to grow, and a work ethic that supports both
