RN Admit Discharge Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as an Admit Discharge Nurse. This role provides holistic, individualized care using the nursing process for patients routinely seen on the unit. The successful candidate will demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Care Planning: Systematically and continually assess the health and status of patients, ensuring the application of age-specific standards.
- Patient Education: Provide patient and family education, taking into account developmental, cultural, and age-specific differences, to ensure effective learning and evaluation.
- Documentation and Surveillance: Accurately document assessments, interventions, and evaluations of care, using computer technology as required by the department, and maintain a high level of awareness for infection control and prevention.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Provide clear direction to the care team, based on resources, identified patient care needs, and nursing staff skill levels, and function as a charge nurse as needed.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to the development of solutions.
- Education and Licensure: Current State of Utah Registered Nurse license or RN Compact license, Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred.
- Certifications and Training: Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification, any other certification/training required by the department.
- Experience: At least one year of medical/surgical acute care hospital experience required.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
