RN Admit Discharge Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as an Admit/Discharge Nurse. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide holistic, individualized care to patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Responsibilities- Assess patients' health and status, applying age-specific standards to ensure comprehensive care.
- Develop and implement patient care plans, incorporating problems, goals, evaluations, and interventions.
- Document assessments, interventions, and evaluations of care objectively and timely, utilizing computer technology as required.
- Surveil, prevent, and control infection by following established policies and procedures.
- Provide clear, concise, and pertinent direction to the care team, based on resources, identified patient care needs, and nursing staff skill level.
- Offer patient/family education, considering assessing ability to learn, special learning needs, and evaluating effectiveness of teaching.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the occurrence reporting system and use it to report potential safety issues.
- Current State of Utah Registered Nurse license or RN Compact license.
- Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred.
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
- Any other certification/training required by the department in which employee is floating.
- Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- Must have the sensitivity, maturity, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Broad knowledge of admission/discharge criteria, MDR, and self-motivated individual strongly preferred.
- At least three years of medical/surgical or similar acute care hospital experience required.

St. Mark's has expanded emergency access to the communities we serve with two free-standing emergency centers, Taylorsville Emergency Center and West Valley Emergency Center. Both locations have 10-plus patient rooms, staffed 24/7 by experienced board-certified emergency room physicians, nurses, and support teams from St. Mark's Hospital. In addition to ER care, both facilities offer comprehensive imaging services, including computerized tomography (CT scan), X-ray, and ultrasound, as well as a fully equipped medical laboratory.
