Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as an Admit/Discharge Nurse. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide holistic, individualized care to patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' health and status, applying age-specific standards to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, incorporating problems, goals, evaluations, and interventions.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and evaluations of care objectively and timely, utilizing computer technology as required.
  • Surveil, prevent, and control infection by following established policies and procedures.
  • Provide clear, concise, and pertinent direction to the care team, based on resources, identified patient care needs, and nursing staff skill level.
  • Offer patient/family education, considering assessing ability to learn, special learning needs, and evaluating effectiveness of teaching.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the occurrence reporting system and use it to report potential safety issues.
Requirements
  • Current State of Utah Registered Nurse license or RN Compact license.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred.
  • Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • Any other certification/training required by the department in which employee is floating.
  • Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
  • Must have the sensitivity, maturity, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Broad knowledge of admission/discharge criteria, MDR, and self-motivated individual strongly preferred.
  • At least three years of medical/surgical or similar acute care hospital experience required.
