Job Overview

Position Summary

The role involves the safe and efficient operation of commercial trucks to deliver products to designated locations. The driver will be responsible for various types of vehicles, including box trucks and transport trucks, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a commercial vehicle for a minimum of 40 hours weekly.
  • Receive and interpret delivery instructions from dispatch.
  • Plan delivery routes based on priority and logistics provided by dispatch.
  • Manage paperwork efficiently, ensuring all documentation is accurately completed and filed.
  • Verify product details, including type and quantity, against delivery logs.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting any issues.
  • Ensure customer acknowledgment of deliveries through appropriate documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of mileage and fuel purchases.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to address any inquiries or issues.
  • Participate in driver meetings and training sessions.
  • Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety protocols.
  • Report any vehicle or trailer issues to the operations team.
  • Assist with vehicle maintenance and repairs as directed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Role

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required.
  • Minimum of 100,000 miles of driving experience.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and CSA 2010 standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be capable of exerting up to 50 pounds of force as needed.
  • Position primarily involves sitting while operating a vehicle.
  • Must successfully complete a driver's physical examination.
