Paramedic - Critical Care Transport Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to join our Critical Care Transport Unit at University Hospital in Newark, NJ. As a Paramedic, you will provide advanced life support care to patients in emergency situations, working closely with our team of medical professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care.
Responsibilities- Provide pre-hospital Basic and Advanced Life Support (BLS, ALS) in all weather conditions
- Assess, treat, lift, and move patients to the transport vehicle
- Transport patients to an appropriate medical facility
- Complete all required documentation and other assigned duties
- Represent University Hospital and EMS in a positive and professional manner
- At least two (2) years EMS experience and two (2) years of EMS driving experience
- Valid certification as a NJ Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic or NJ Mobile Intensive Care Nurse
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for the Healthcare Provider, ACLS Provider, and PALS Provider certifications
- Incident Command System (ICS) Level 100 or higher and National Incident Management System (NIMS) Awareness certifications
- Good physical condition and ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
The Paramedic will work in all weather and environmental conditions, including varying or extreme temperatures, and will be exposed to moderate or greater noise and unpredictable situations. The Paramedic may occasionally be exposed to patients exhibiting assaultive behaviors and may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, run, or jump.
