Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Paramedic to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a Critical Care Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive, effective, and safe patient care during all patient encounters, including ICU-level care throughout inter-facility transport of all patient populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive, effective, and safe patient care during all patient encounters, including ICU-level care throughout inter-facility transport of all patient populations.
  • Attain and maintain expert proficiency in the use of all current and future biomedical devices that are applicable to patient transfer/transport.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned area.
  • Observe patient behavior and responses to treatment, report and record routine and specific patient data, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respirations.
  • Document findings in EMR.
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team, both internally and externally.
  • Promote, support, and positively represent the Mount Sinai Health System and the EMS department to all internal and external customers.
  • Assist in navigating the patient transfer process and provide a positive impression and experience with the Mount Sinai Health System.
  • Maintain exemplary driving record and operate ambulance with great skill and care.
  • Attain and maintain expert ability to operate and troubleshoot all ambulance mechanical and patient support systems and technologies.
  • Maintain current strong working knowledge of the critical care transport industry.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions.
Requirements
  • Four-year high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of training program as an NYSDOH Emergency Medical Technician, and other protocol update programs as currently required.
  • Emergency Vehicle Operators Course completion desirable.
  • SEIU 1199 at Mount Sinai West, BAC - Ambulance Service - WST, Mount Sinai West.
