Critical Care Paramedic

As a Critical Care Paramedic at Mount Sinai Health System, you will be an integral part of a team responsible for providing patient care and support activities surrounding the coordination and performance of patient transfers/transports/emergency responses. You will be cognizant of and adhere to the philosophy, standards, objectives, and policies of the Department and the Hospital System.
Qualifications- Four year high school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of training program as an NYSDOH Emergency Medical Technician, and other protocol update programs as currently required
- External and internal promotional opportunity applicants must successfully pass the MSHS EMS EMT/paramedic candidate exam. A minimal score of 80%, on all sections, is considered passing.
- 1+ years 911 experience preferred
- Certification as a NYS EMT
- Tri-State issued driver's license with infraction free driving abstract
- Emergency Vehicle Operators Course completion desirable
- Within scope of training and certification, and within all variations of team composition, the Critical Care Paramedic will provide comprehensive, effective, and safe patient care during all patient encounters, including ICU-level care throughout inter-facility transport of all patient populations.
- As a component of clinical care, attains and maintains expert proficiency in the use of all current and future biomedical devices that are applicable to patient transfer/transport.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned area.
- Works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team, both internally and externally.
- Promotes, supports, and positively represents the Mount Sinai Health System and the EMS department to all internal and external customers.
