Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Admissions Transfer Specialist to manage the transfer admissions process, ensuring a seamless transition of transfer students into our institution. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise prospective transfer students on admission requirements, transfer credit policies, and academic program options.
  • Assist transfer students throughout the admissions process, including application completion, submission of required documents, and navigating advisement with assigned academic advisors.
  • Serve as a liaison between transfer students and various university offices to facilitate a smooth transition and resolve issues as needed.
  • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in transfer admissions and higher education policies.
  • Participate in recruitment events, college fairs, and outreach activities to attract prospective transfer students to the university.
  • Conduct data analysis to assess successful events and methods, identify influences and feeder schools, and explore new opportunities to build the pool of prospects.
  • Travel on behalf of the University to connect with prospective students, generate new leads, and cultivate relationships with student influencers.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with prospects, admitted, and deposited students through point of hand-off to Student Success.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree. (ORU graduate preferred.)
  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver's license and have an excellent driving record for the purpose of driving university leased vehicles.
  • Must possess demonstrated ability within the department and a proven track record of success in reaching enrollment territory goals or sales conversion in another industry. Requires at least one year experience on the New Student Relations team or other relevant experience.
  • Must be computer literate to include: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Banner Relationship Management and Sales Force systems is a plus. Bi-lingual, Spanish-speaker preferred.
Abilities
  • Experience in admissions, academic advising, or student services, preferably with a focus on transfer students.
  • Knowledge of transfer credit evaluation processes, articulation agreements, and higher education regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse populations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, leadership, and time management skills are a must.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality at all times regarding both student records and internally sensitive information.
  • Ability to work both as a team member and independently; use sound judgment regarding organizational and departmental regulations, procedures, and policies; quickly establish and maintain rapport with students, faculty, alumni, administration, and parents from varying cultural backgrounds.
Additional Information

Occasional out-of-town travel, air and ground, and occasional use of personal vehicle will be required. Vehicles are available through the University motor pool with advance notice. The ability and willingness to travel and work occasional nights and weekends is required.
