About the Role

The Learning Community, a vibrant public charter school, seeks a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to support students in growing academically and socio-emotionally. As a collaborative team member, you will work closely with teachers, families, and students to create a supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate speech and language skills of K-8 students, providing detailed reports and recommendations to families and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) addressing specific goals and objectives with measurable outcomes.
  • Monitor student progress through data collection and maintain written documentation of evaluations, IEP goals, progress notes, and communication.
  • Select and utilize therapeutic materials effectively with individuals and small groups of students.
  • Provide consultation to general and/or special education team members regarding student needs and best practices.
  • Facilitate social skills groups with K-8 students.
  • Participate actively as a member of the multidisciplinary team and work cooperatively with families, teachers, and professionals in related disciplines.
  • Assess and maintain adaptive and augmentative equipment to facilitate functional communication needs of students.
  • Stay current with instructional theory, practice, and research, engaging in regular professional development to stay current in best practices for diverse learners.
Requirements
  • Certification or in-process certification in the state of Rhode Island.
  • U.S. citizenship or residency or work visa.
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience with diverse populations preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in a school setting preferred.
  • RIDE certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Licensure as a registered Speech-Language Pathologist from the Rhode Island Department of Health.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA.

  • Competitive salary range: $45,145-$89,259.
  • Bonus: $1,250 after 3 months, $1,250 after 6 months.
