Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Urban Education Support Specialist (K-4) to join our team at ReGeneration Schools. This role will play a critical part in supporting students with special needs, helping them develop their full potential while increasing social appropriate behavior.

Key Responsibilities
  • Closely monitor student behavior as indicated on the student's IEP and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP), ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Provide individualized instruction under the direction of the Special Education teacher, assessing and identifying student needs on a one-to-one basis to address knowledge gaps and promote academic growth.
  • Set and attain ambitious student achievement and social-emotional benchmarks, fostering a culture of high expectations and excellence.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide ongoing support, prompting, redirection, and modeling to help students access school curriculum and reach their full potential.
  • Model and encourage appropriate student behavior, including grit, self-control, social intelligence, optimism, and curiosity, to promote a positive school culture.
  • Assist with collecting behavioral and academic data as directed by the teacher or school team, contributing to informed decision-making and program evaluation.
  • Work with other paraprofessionals to facilitate positive interactions between students and staff, promoting a sense of community and inclusivity.
  • Evaluate and improve mastery of instructional, cultural building, and leadership skills through continuous professional development and collaboration with the grade-level chair and school team.

  • Demonstrate mastery of academic subjects and behavioral interventions, applying theoretical knowledge to practical applications.
  • Possess 1-5 years of experience as a paraprofessional in an urban setting, with a proven track record of success and a commitment to serving diverse student populations.
  • Show proof of full vaccination for Covid-19, prioritizing the health and well-being of students, staff, and the broader community.
  • Hold a valid paraprofessional license from the Ohio Department of Education – a requirement for this role.
