About the Role:

The Traffic Special Markings Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of highway infrastructure, including traffic markings, bridges, and roads.

Responsibilities:
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assign work to units, ensuring the availability of necessary materials and equipment.
  • Optimize personnel, time, and equipment utilization for each task.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to employees, explaining the purpose of the job and relevant programs.
  • Oversee operation and maintenance, ensuring that supervised employees complete work orders on schedule with minimal interruptions.
  • Support winter operations, including snow and ice removal, and assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of district brine machines and application equipment.
  • Implement and improve operational programs, procedures, and project planning.
  • Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure they understand role responsibilities and expectations.
  • Set expectations, measure progress, provide feedback, and evaluate employee performance, ensuring work meets quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class A or Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Specialized knowledge of highway principles, practices, and methods.
  • Experience in all phases of maintenance development and transportation operations.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety precautions and regulations.
  • Supervisory experience of multiple employees.
  • Ability to properly schedule employee hours and coordinate trucks and materials during winter operations.
  • Ability to delegate work, set clear direction, and manage workflow.
  • Ability to effectively give feedback, provide guidance or corrective action, coach, and develop employee skillsets.
