Project Manager Job Description

At Brasfield & Gorrie, we are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement project business plans, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with field management to create job-specific safety plans, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for engineers and architects, facilitating effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Work closely with pre-construction and field supervision to identify and implement contract deliverables, quality testing, and reporting requirements.
  • Develop and maintain staging, logistics, and phasing plans for projects, ensuring efficient and effective execution.
  • Lead coordination of subcontractors, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of services.
  • Establish and manage project budgets, including bonding and/or Subguard, change order logs, and cost tracking.
  • Set up and manage projects in E1 and Prolog software, ensuring accurate and up-to-date project information.
  • Responsible for project startup, including obtaining necessary permits and licenses, and managing jobsite mobilization.
  • Facilitate subcontractor pre-mobilization/startup meetings, ensuring a smooth transition to project execution.
  • Issue and administer subcontracts and purchase orders for multiple trades, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development, planning, and updating of overall project schedules, ensuring timely completion and effective resource allocation.
  • Lead responsibility for project quality control plan implementation and compliance, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Conduct bi-weekly safety surveys with project superintendents, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Prioritize, review, and expedite submittals, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of services.
  • Expedite material deliveries according to project schedule requirements, ensuring efficient and effective execution.
  • Understand quantity updating and work with superintendents to maintain accurate labor forecasts.
  • Develop and administer subcontractor and purchase order change orders, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Review projections, labor reports, safety documents, and schedules on a monthly basis, ensuring effective project management.
  • Review and approve material/equipment invoices according to project budget, ensuring accurate and timely payment.
  • Prepare payment requests and monitor collections, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
  • Meet with city and state agencies to review project progress and inspections, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Attend OAC progress meetings and create monthly status reports, ensuring effective project communication.
  • Enter and update information in project management software, including job status reports, projections, change orders, and RFI's.
  • Manage and oversee job close-out documentation and procedures, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Mentor and train assistant project managers and co-op/intern students, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction experience.
  • Able to perform assistant project manager duties proficiently.
  • Experience managing all aspects of construction projects, including architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical.
  • Working knowledge of Prolog and other construction software.
  • Basic understanding of financial accounting systems.
  • Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Willingness to travel and/or relocate, as both may be required.
