Medical Assistant General Surgery and Urology Specialist

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for coordinating direct patient care activities and providing clinical support to providers within one of our clinical practices.
Key responsibilities include checking in patients, obtaining vital signs, medication reconciliation, patient medical history information, expediting patient flow, rooming patients, stocking clinic supplies, navigating electronic health records, scheduling appointments, and assisting with medication fill and refill requests.
The Medical Assistant will also communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients, and physicians in a respectful manner and uphold Baptist Health's mission and core values.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency
- Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating databases containing confidential information
- Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate
- Prior working experience in a medical office/clinic performing clinical MA duties or certification as a Medical Assistant
Preferred Requirements:
- Current MA Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, AAMP
- Graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program with current licensure without restrictions
