About the Job

The Mesquite Independent School District is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to join their team in the employee health clinic. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will provide diagnostic and therapeutic medical care to employees and assist with observations and evaluations of patients. Your expertise in making diagnoses, selecting treatment plans, and administering medications will be crucial in ensuring the well-being of our staff.

Job Description

This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary, along with benefits such as two weeks' vacation, five days of Continuing Medical Education (CME) with $2,500 for reimbursement, and office closures on federal holidays. Our district also offers School District benefits, including TRS (Teacher Retirement System).

Responsibilities
  • Provide diagnostics and therapeutic medical care services to Mesquite ISD and City of Mesquite Employees
  • Assist in the observation and evaluation of patients
  • Take case histories and conduct physical examinations
  • Order laboratory studies and interpret diagnostic tests to determine therapeutic treatment plans
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A completed accredited Physician Assistant Program
  • Certification by the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants
  • Licensure to practice medicine as a Physician Assistant by the Texas Medical Board
  • Maintenance of current Basic Life Support Certification
  • Continuing medical education credits as required by the Texas Medical Board

Prior experience in a similar role is preferred, particularly those with a minimum of two years of practical experience with patients. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with the healthcare team and patient interactions.
