Job Summary

The Enviva team is driven by a shared vision for a renewable energy future. As a Utility Trainee, you will play a crucial role in our mission to deliver sustainable wood bioenergy solutions. This role provides structured learning and development opportunities to prepare individuals for successful integration into a specific role within the port.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to workplace and job safety procedures at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to housekeeping standards.
  • Operate mobile equipment, such as Bobcats and Lulls, to move dust collection bags.
  • Receive and record data accurately for incoming pellets.
  • Collect samples, test finished goods, and record data accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with the Operations team, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as required and serve as a backup resource when needed.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent, or ability to complete GED requirements within six months of hire.
  • Ability to work multiple shift schedules and rotating shifts as required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage priorities and schedule to meet deadlines.
  • Able to obtain a TWIC.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
  • Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment.
  • Work includes high places more than 175 feet, use of man lifts, and work in confined spaces.
  • Willing and able to maintain a strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and overnight to address unexpected site issues with or without notice.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and crawling for up to twelve hours per day.
  • Able to work in high places more than 175 feet, use man lifts, and work in confined spaces.
  • Able to work around moving equipment and machinery.
  • Able to pull and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
