Senior Project Leader

The Senior Project Leader in Engineering is accountable for steering the product development team to achieve all project milestones as outlined at the project's initiation.
This role necessitates a comprehensive understanding of the design and development lifecycle of electronic systems. The Project Leader will collaborate with a diverse team across various internal departments, overseeing projects related to power electronics for both military and commercial applications from the initial proposal phase through to hardware qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the design and development of engineering initiatives.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal resource allocation within the organization.
- Ensure the delivery of project scope aligns with the original budget, timeline, and quality standards.
- Oversee scheduling, budgeting, and integration of New Product Introduction (NPI) and requisition projects, while motivating project teams to meet customer and tollgate milestones.
- Leverage extensive knowledge of product development and analytical skills to effectively execute projects.
- Anticipate and address issues across all facets of the design and development process in a timely manner.
- Utilize sound judgment to propose innovative solutions to complex challenges in collaboration with technical teams and stakeholders.
- Mentor colleagues and facilitate conflict resolution, fostering consensus among team members on various topics.
- Provide estimates on cycle times and design tasks to create project schedules using MS Project, including performance indicators for schedule and cost.
Qualifications
This position requires substantial experience in Electronic Product Development and Project Management.
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Technical Degree) or Project Management, coupled with over 10 years of experience leading large-scale projects.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management and management of key performance indicators.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with a proven track record in problem analysis and resolution.
- Proficient in documenting, planning, and executing programs, with established project management and leadership capabilities.
- Experience managing cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
- Proficient in MS Project and Office applications.
- Background in NPI Product Design and Development within the Aerospace sector, including knowledge of DO-254, DO-178, and MIL-STD-810 standards.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Experience in creating project management plans and budget work packages.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
