Nurse Manager Cardiac Med Surg Leadership Role

HCA Florida Blake Hospital is a 383-bed hospital located in Bradenton, Florida, with a 13-acre campus by the Gulf Coast beaches. We are the only state-designated Level II trauma center in Manatee, Sarasota, and DeSoto Counties, with verification by the American College of Surgeons. Our services include 24-hour emergency care, open-heart surgery, burn care, cancer care, joint replacement, and inpatient rehabilitation.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a Cardiac Med Surg Unit Manager to provide leadership and expertise to ensure high-quality patient care in our Cardiac Med Surg Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and effective care to patients, while also ensuring compliance with legal, accrediting, and regulatory agency requirements.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership and take responsibility for the delivery of safe, quality patient care for assigned departments on a 24-hour basis.
- Ensure departmental standards of nursing practice, nursing policies, and procedures meet legal and accrediting and regulatory agency requirements.
- Ensure continuity of care through demonstrated use of interdisciplinary team approach to patient care.
- Collaborate and share pertinent patient information with physicians, patients, and other members of the healthcare team regarding patient progress and treatment.
- Develop and implement ongoing programs to measure, monitor, assess, and improve quality of nursing care delivered to patients, working toward hospital-wide improvement in meeting core measure, patient safety, and service excellence goals in assigned units.
- Ensure effective coordination of patient care with other services and departments throughout the hospital.
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations.
- ASN required, BSN preferred.
- American Heart Association BLS.
- ACLS within 6 months of hire or transfer.
- 3 years previous experience in an acute care setting.
- Management specialty certification required within 6 months of eligibility; unit specialty certification also preferred.
