Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safety leadership and guidance to assigned shift teams, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Develop and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures to prevent injuries and illnesses.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement ergonomic solutions to reduce musculoskeletal hazards.
  • Provide training and education to employees on safety procedures, policies, and best practices.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, injuries, and illnesses, and provide regular reports to management.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive safety file plan to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in safety-related committees and meetings, and provide input on safety-related policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Health and Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in a manufacturing or processing environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, life-safety codes, and other relevant laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
  • CPR/First Aid certification, and basic knowledge of industrial hygiene practices.
Working Conditions

This role will be based in a manufacturing environment, with approximately 70% of time spent in a cold and wet environment, and 30% in a controlled office environment.
