Lumber Grader Specialist

Quanex is seeking a skilled Lumber Grader to contribute to our team in Greenville, PA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lumber grading and a keen eye for detail. Key Responsibilities:

* Inspect and grade lumber in accordance with NHLA grading rules
* Monitor product quality and quantity, rejecting any that does not meet standards
* Participate in decision-making regarding which loads of lumber to inspect
* Operate the infeed controls of the green system
* Inspect boards on the green system and enter results in the computer
* Complete grading reports thoroughly and accurately
* Follow all safety procedures and guidelines

Requirements:

* High school education or equivalent
* Minimum 1 year of lumber grading experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of hardwood lumber grades
* Strong math skills, including reading tape measure and digital calipers
