Job Summary

As a Police Officer at Tulsa Community College, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a strong commitment to public service and a passion for making a positive impact in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enforce college regulations and federal and state laws, while maintaining a strong focus on community policing and building positive relationships with the campus community.

• Perform general duty police work, including responding to calls for service, conducting investigations, and providing support to students and staff in need.

• Collaborate with other college departments and law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone on campus.

• Maintain a high level of physical fitness and be able to respond to emergency situations as needed.

• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest laws, regulations, and best practices in law enforcement, and participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid Oklahoma driver's license.

• Must have a CLEET Peace Officer certification or be a graduate of the Collegiate Officer Program (COP).

• Must have at least three years of law enforcement experience, with a strong background in patrol work and community policing.

• Must be able to pass a rigorous background investigation and polygraph examination.

• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Considerable knowledge of modern criminal law procedures and laws of arrest.

• Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed, and be available to respond to emergency situations at any time.

• Highly principled ethics and moral character, with a strong commitment to serving the community and upholding the law.
