Job Summary

As a Police Officer at Tulsa Community College, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a strong commitment to public service and a passion for making a positive impact in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enforce college regulations and federal and state laws, while maintaining a strong focus on community policing and building positive relationships with the campus community.

• Perform general duty police work, including responding to calls for service, conducting investigations, and providing support to students and staff in need.

• Collaborate with other college departments and law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe and secure learning environment.

• Develop and implement effective strategies to prevent and respond to incidents of crime and disorder on campus.

• Provide training and education to students and staff on safety and security protocols, as well as crisis response and emergency preparedness.

• Maintain accurate and detailed records of incidents, investigations, and other relevant activities.

• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest law enforcement techniques and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver's License with a clean driving record.

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of three years of law enforcement experience, with a strong background in patrol work and community policing.

• Must be able to pass a rigorous background investigation, including a polygraph examination and a psychological evaluation.

• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and build strong relationships with students, staff, and community members.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Considerable knowledge of modern criminal law procedures and laws of arrest.

• Experience in crisis response and emergency preparedness, with a strong understanding of campus safety and security protocols.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
