Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Administrator to oversee the Exceptional Children Transportation Operations area and provide daily leadership and supervision to the EC Transportation Operations Administrators and area staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish clear performance objectives, guidelines, and procedures for staff.
  • Serve as a mentor in regard to supervision, management, personnel actions, and other functions related to the position.
  • Coordinate recruitment, training, and assignment of Bus Safety Assistant transportation personnel.
  • Oversee implementation of changes to federal, state, and local laws and school system policies.
  • Recommend staff position changes, additions, or deletions to ensure the best possible level of service.
  • Maintain safety standards and develop programs of preventive training.
  • Coordinate the training program with the EC Transportation Operation Administrators and the EC Transportation Team Leaders.
  • Review, recommend, and ensure accountability of personnel, equipment, and other resources needed and used by the EC Bus Safety Assistant transportation area office.
  • Investigate and resolve internal and external concerns; correct any deficiencies in operations to avoid repeated issues.
  • Attend district meetings as it relates to EC Bus Safety Assistant transportation operations.
  • Implement, distribute, and modify, as needed, performance standards and guidelines for the EC Bus Safety Assistant Transportation staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR
  • Five years of demonstrated successful supervisory and/or training experience in a directly related field; AND
  • Experience or familiarity with transportation accommodations and equipment for special needs students.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the Every Child Accountability and Tracking System (ECATS);
  • Experience in designing and implementing EC transportation fleet routes and schedules.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff, students, parents, staff members of external funding agencies, vendors, and the community. Work is considered medium physical work, requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force. The work frequently requires driving automotive equipment.
