About the Position

The Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a skilled and dedicated Thoracic Surgeon to join the Division of Adult Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery in the Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care to patients with thoracic diseases, including lung, esophageal, pleural, mediastinal, and chest wall diseases.
  • Manage patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Develop and implement new models of person-centered, multidisciplinary care that reward value.
  • Participate in scholarly activity, including clinical, health services, translational, or basic science research.
  • Actively participate in the academic department by all required departmental policies.
Requirements
  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Meets applicable credentialing and privileging standards for thoracic surgery.
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas (or the ability to obtain before appointment).
  • Eligible applicants will be board certified (or board eligible within five years of completion of fellowship) by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary academic environment.
