About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning, draping, and ensuring proper anesthesia administration.
  • Participate in the maintenance of the operating room, including cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking supplies.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe surgical procedures.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, addressing their needs and concerns in a compassionate and empathetic manner.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull with 30 pounds of force, and perform other physical demands of the role.
