Your expertise will be essential in preparing and verifying prescriptions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pharmaceutical verification of prescription orders, including legend, over-the-counter, and controlled substances.
- Evaluate drug orders and ensure they align with medications presented at verification stations.
- Pre-verify medications for dispensing into prescription containers using specialized equipment.
- Complete the verification and dispensing process for controlled substances, adhering to regulatory standards.
- Oversee quality assurance processes and provide guidance to Pharmacy Technicians.
- Adhere to documentation protocols and reporting requirements as per established policies.
- Identify and report any discrepancies or unusual medication issues in accordance with pharmacy protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all pharmaceutical guidelines and provide comprehensive checking and labeling of medications.
- Prepare and dispense medications while following corporate and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Valid pharmacist license in the United States.
- Graduation from an ACPE accredited pharmacy program.
- Licensure for controlled substances is required.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential.
- Proficient in basic computer skills and familiar with MS Office applications.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Ability to meet credentialing requirements for healthcare providers.
- Physical capability to perform job functions, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- No sponsorship is available for this position.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform various physical tasks including lifting, standing, and reaching.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and carrying up to 40 lbs over reasonable distances.
- Must be able to push or pull with a force of up to 30 lbs.
