About the Role

Amazon Inbound Transportation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leveraging data to drive business decisions and improve customer experience.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, business intelligence, and transportation optimization. You will work closely with various teams to define, develop, and manage the cross-functional strategy for U.S. domestic inbound transportation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the design and execution of reporting solutions for Inbound Transportation
  • Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, data scientists, and software engineers to define reporting needs
  • Build self-service tools and dashboards that provide aggregated metrics and granular data for defect verification, customer communication, and deep-dives
  • Perform deep-dives and data analysis, providing recommendations on new metrics or business decisions
  • Mentor teammates, provide inputs in team and org-level strategic planning, and lead cross-org discussions

Basic Qualifications
  • 10+ years of professional or military experience
  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • Experience programming to extract, transform, and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
  • Experience with AWS technologies
  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills
  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning, and data mining
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative field
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
  • Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership
