Job Summary

The Senior Clinical Director of Family Violence Services at Nationwide Children's Hospital partners with the Center for Family and Safety leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive and integrated program infrastructure for our service line. This includes operating budget development and management, practice/billing activities, clinical programming and new service development, and customer service initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborates and leads efforts with other TCFSH leaders to meet TCFSH clinical, financial, and operational goals, and to develop and implement plans for successful growth of the center.
  • Provides direct clinical oversight of services including clinical supervision, training, and on-call response as needed. Provides signatory responsibility for Medicaid counseling services delivered through the adult services program.
  • Ensures coordination and alignment of clinical activities for those operational areas which fall outside the Senior Director's direct responsibility that are consistent with the plans of TCFSH and NCH.
  • Facilitates and recommends annual operating and capital budgets for service line activities for assigned programs. Monitors and administers activity, revenue, expense, and capital budgets for assigned programs. Analyzes, monitors, and controls allocations for financial, staff, and material resources.
  • Facilitates change management and leads/manages initiatives such as new service development.
  • Collaborates and consults with medical and hospital personnel at all levels, both internally and externally for the development and coordination of services.
  • Coordinates with leadership and supports recruitment and retention across the service line, including employee engagement and other retention initiatives.
  • Assists staff in developing effective policies and procedures, developing appropriate goals, and resolving complex managerial problems.
  • Maintains safety and quality as priorities, providing direction, prioritization, accountability, enthusiasm and support for safety and quality initiatives.
  • Initiates and promotes the continuous performance improvement process to improve clinical, administrative, educational, and customer service outcomes.
  • Shares in responsibility for assuring that assigned departments/programs are compliant with all accrediting bodies such as JCAHO, ODH, and NCA, that appropriate quality assurance programs are in place within each program domain, and that departments/programs follow the Hospital Corporate Integrity Program.
Requirements
  • Doctoral Degree (PhD./PsyD) from an accredited school with current license to practice in the State of Ohio.
  • Able to meet all requirements for Medical staff appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong clinical knowledge and direct experience providing evidence-based and evidence-informed services to victims of family violence (child abuse, intimate partner, and teen dating violence).
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Experience writing or managing large service grants.
  • Experience developing/leading an inclusive and diverse team of clinicians.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • High-level initiative, self-direction, and accountability.
  • Financial management skills; experience with financial management/performance and profitability through the development and monitoring of business operations and capital budgets required.
  • Proven ability to build and lead teams toward measurable results.
  • Applied research, quality improvement, and training experience highly desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years of successful leadership experience in a clinical, academic, hospital, or behavioral health/victim services setting managing multiple clinical disciplines.
