The Specialized Physical Education Instructor is tasked with designing and implementing age-appropriate physical education programs tailored for preschool children with developmental challenges.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities of the Specialized Physical Education Instructor encompass:
- Developing and executing age-appropriate physical education activities for preschoolers with developmental challenges.
- Collaborating with educational and therapeutic personnel to deliver targeted instruction within group motor skill activities.
- Ensuring that all services are administered with the highest respect for the students' dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Adhering to the established schedule for gym activities.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized physical education environment.
- Implementing Universal Precautions consistently.
- Participating in mandatory staff meetings.
- Engaging in professional development activities alongside school staff.
- Carrying out additional duties as assigned by the program director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To successfully fulfill this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of student records.
- Capability to assess issues and determine appropriate solutions.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
- A Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Early Childhood Special Education.
- A minimum of two years of experience working with children with disabilities in a physical education capacity.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:
Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English. Competence in reading, analyzing, and interpreting various reports and documents. Ability to address common inquiries and concerns from staff and stakeholders. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
MATHEMATICAL ABILITIES:
Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world scenarios. Basic knowledge of statistical principles is beneficial.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
