Key Responsibilities

As a Principal Transportation Engineer, you will:

  • Lead and mentor interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality multimodal transportation projects.
  • Oversee the development of traffic signal plans, maintenance of traffic strategies, and signing and pavement marking designs.
  • Utilize advanced software tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Synchro to produce and review project deliverables.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and design analyses for various transportation initiatives, including road diets and multimodal corridor studies.
  • Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and client relationships to ensure successful project outcomes.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A professional engineering license in Colorado.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or transportation engineering.
  • Over 15 years of relevant experience in transportation engineering, including project management.
  • Proficiency in traffic engineering software and a strong understanding of Complete Streets principles.
  • Experience working with public sector clients and familiarity with local transportation regulations.

This full-time position typically follows a hybrid work model, allowing for flexibility between in-office and remote work. Our Denver office fosters a collaborative atmosphere where engineers, planners, and support staff work together on a diverse range of projects across multiple states.
