Anesthesiologist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Anesthesiologist to join our team at the Louis A Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV. As an Anesthesiologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anesthesia care to our patients, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and monitor anesthesia care during surgical procedures, including general surgery, vascular, urology, podiatry, orthopedics, otolaryngology, and ophthalmology.
  • Perform pre-anesthetic assessments and evaluations of patients, developing individualized anesthesia plans.
  • Initiate and manage anesthesia techniques, including general, regional, and local anesthesia, as well as IV sedation.
  • Apply and insert monitoring modalities to collect and interpret patients' physiologic data.
  • Manage patients' airways and pulmonary status, including endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, and extubation.
  • Respond to emergency situations, providing airway management, emergency fluids, and drugs, or using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques.

Requirements:
  • Board certification in Anesthesiology.
