Charlotte, North Carolina, United States Atrium Health Full time

We invite Advanced Practice Providers to discover the exciting career opportunity available in our GI Surgical Oncology team at Atrium Health-Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Our highly experienced GI oncology surgeons are committed to delivering exceptional care to treat complex surgical diseases and disorders of the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, rectum, and anus. Our GI Surgical Oncology Section utilizes the latest surgical techniques and technologies to achieve the best possible outcomes.

In collaboration with experts from other medical specialties, including Gastroenterology, Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Urology, and Gynecology, we provide highly specialized and comprehensive care. The principles of Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) guide our patients through the perioperative experience, ensuring optimal results.

Atrium Health is an ERAS Centers of Excellence, and our affiliation with the Levine Cancer Institute allows us to deliver cancer care across North and South Carolina, leveraging a strong network of affiliated hospitals and providers.

The provider in this role will function in the inpatient hospital and outpatient clinic-based setting, collaborating with attending surgeons and other members of a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include inpatient daily rounds with surgical residents, consultations, face-to-face and virtual clinic-based appointments, patient examinations, medication management, laboratory/radiologic testing, and interpretation.

As a key member of our team, you will see and treat patients with a wide variety of gastrointestinal cancers from esophagus to rectum. Additional responsibilities include patient education on disease processes, inpatient rounding, post-operative, and discharge instructions, independent APP post-operative clinic, and more.

This role requires the ability to perform initial and periodic medical histories, physical examinations, record findings, assist with new consults and admissions, conduct daily assessments, determine treatment plans, write prescriptions, order and interpret laboratory and radiology examinations, document patient encounters, and participate in group meetings.

We offer a competitive salary of $140,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits that include health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
