About This Role:

The Veterinary Health Center at Kansas State University is seeking a skilled Veterinary Nurse II to join our dedicated Small Animal Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our teaching hospital.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will be responsible for providing vital care for critical patients, operating medical equipment, and performing or assisting in technical procedures. You will also have the opportunity to advance your skillset through continuing education and various learning experiences.

The VHC is a teaching hospital that offers routine, emergency, and specialty care services. We strive to provide exceptional care for patients from high-quality routine healthcare to state-of-the-art advanced therapy for seriously ill patients.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in veterinary medical concepts, animal behavior, and animal husbandry. You should also be skilled in interpersonal and written communication, basic computer skills, and be able to handle, restrain, and provide medical treatments to domestic animals.

As a Veterinary Nurse II, you will be responsible for assisting in day-to-day responsibilities, monitoring medical records, organizing technical work, maintaining equipment and supply statuses, and coordinating animal treatments. You will also have the opportunity to work with and provide preventative maintenance for ordinary veterinary medical hospital equipment.

We require that new hires in any level must obtain a Kansas license as a Veterinary Technician within 6 months of employment. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
