Job Summary

As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, the MR/CT Technologist plays a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of Southwest Medical Imaging. This position requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and promoting a positive work environment.

Responsibilities
  1. Explain procedures to patients, reducing anxieties and ensuring patient cooperation.
  2. Position and immobilize patients in exam scanners, observing during scans for patient safety.
  3. Monitor video displays of areas being scanned, adjusting technique to improve image quality.
  4. Review and evaluate images for technical quality and diagnostic purposes.
  5. Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and ensure patient and staff safety.
  6. Answer patient, technologist, and radiologist questions, providing accurate and timely information.
  7. Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and arrange for repairs as needed.
  8. Verify patient information and complete work in RIS, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  9. Enter data into computer systems, including patient history, anatomical areas scanned, orientation, and position of entry into aperture.
  10. Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • ARRT board certification in CT and MR, obtained within 24 months if not certified in specialty.
  • CPR certification and I.V. skills.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, and talk or hear, with frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
