Position Overview
JSat Automation is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer for a hybrid role that involves client site visits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a project team by providing expertise in complex system automation design, implementation, and qualification, requiring a strong grasp of analytical problem-solving, project management, and lifecycle management.
  • Oversee capital projects, applying advanced automation engineering principles in the design, specification, construction, startup, and validation of process equipment and systems.
  • Lead design, implementation, and qualification activities for process control applications utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems (SCADA).
  • Develop comprehensive specifications, engineering documents, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and operational standards.
  • Test and design automation-based process equipment, supporting new product and technology introductions through engineering assessments and system configuration changes.
  • Innovate solutions to complex challenges by adapting standard automation technical principles.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all relevant environmental health and safety regulations.
  • Create and interpret electrical design packages, including System Design Specifications (SDS), User Requirement Specifications (URS), Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Validation Summary Reports (VSR).
Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years of experience with various product platforms, including Rockwell Automation Factory Talk & ControlLogix PLC, GE Intellution iFiX SCADA, Wonderware SCADA, and DeltaV Distributed Control System.
  • Proficient in cGMP procedures and engineering practices related to pharmaceutical and biotech production processes.
  • Familiar with industry standards for batch control systems, software development life cycle methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of ASTM 2500, S88, and S95 techniques, with an emphasis on batch processing.
  • Strong leadership, technical writing, and communication skills are essential.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems, testing and inspection machines, filling systems for syringes and vials, and industrial networking for automation systems.
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, and capable of multitasking in project environments, with strong collaboration and facilitation skills.
