Behavioral Health Specialist Opportunity

Department: Behavioral and Mental Health

FTE: 1.00
Full Time
Shift: Days

As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will coordinate and provide services and resources to individuals and families necessary to promote rehabilitation, recovery, and resiliency. You will identify and address the strengths that will aid the individual or family in the recovery and resiliency process, as well as the barriers that could impede the development of skills needed for independent functioning in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and provide services and resources to individuals and families
  • Identify and address strengths and barriers to recovery and resiliency
  • Support individuals and families in crisis situations
  • Develop and facilitate individualized service plans
  • Coordinate and monitor use of services

Requirements:

  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer within 30 days
  • Valid New Mexico Driver's License
  • UNM Vehicle Operator's Permit within 60 days
  • Certified Peer Specialist recognized in the State of New Mexico

Working Conditions:

  • Med Haz: Dirt, dust, fumes, odors, bad weather, noise
  • Subject to random alcohol and substance testing
