Job Summary

As a Vocational Technical Teacher - Digital Design, you will play a vital role in guiding the learning process towards the achievement of curriculum goals. You will establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate these objectives to students. You will employ a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and capabilities of individual students or groups.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Meet and instruct assigned classes in designated locations and times.
  2. Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students, and prepare for assigned classes.
  3. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  4. Supervise students to protect their mental and physical health and safety, and take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  5. Assess student progress regularly and provide progress reports as required, maintaining accurate records as needed.
  6. Diagnose learning disabilities and seek assistance from District specialists as required.
  7. Assist in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior.
  8. Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
  9. Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aides and/or volunteers, and evaluate their job performance.
  10. Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Eligibility for Florida Department of Education Certification in the appropriate subject area.
  • Strong knowledge of subject content, oral and written communication skills, time management skills, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to plan and implement a program of study that meets individual student needs, and to manage multiple tasks.
