The Mayor's Office of Talent and Appointments is seeking a dynamic and qualified individual to take on the role of Director of Operations. This position is crucial for enhancing the quality of life for Latino residents in the District through effective management and strategic partnerships.

ROLE OBJECTIVES:

The Director of Operations will be tasked with:

  • Collaborating with leadership to oversee and enhance agency programs.
  • Directing initiatives aimed at resolving conflicts within Latino communities.
  • Coordinating with the Commission on Latino Community Development to influence legislation and policies affecting the Latino population.
  • Conducting research to identify and report on significant challenges faced by the Latino community.
  • Building and maintaining partnerships with non-governmental Latino organizations and governmental entities to foster collaboration and support.
  • Formulating strategic outreach efforts to engage Latino constituents and organizations effectively.
  • Evaluating the impact and efficiency of Latino-focused programs and policies.
  • Providing assistance on policy matters related to Latino constituents.
  • Carrying out additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicants should possess 5-8 years of experience in public policy, community engagement, or legislative advocacy, particularly with the Latino community.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for building effective partnerships with various organizations.
  • Experience in policy analysis and innovative communication strategies is preferred.
  • Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to enhancing service delivery for Latino constituents.
