Compensation Package

Job Description

In this role, the Nurse Practitioner will utilize their medical expertise to provide primary care services to inmates within the facility's ambulatory care setting. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for identifying patient health issues, prescribing treatment under physician supervision, and implementing medical regimens as approved.

Key Responsibilities

This position involves:

  • Responding to and initiating care for medical emergencies
  • Conducting initial patient assessments and developing care plans
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals and correctional staff to ensure quality patient care
  • Documenting all patient interactions and maintaining accurate records
  • Maintaining adherence to safety and security protocols, including Universal Precautions
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited college/university NP program
  • Current licensure or certification in the state of employment
  • Experience working in correctional settings, although not required
