Job Summary

Indiana University is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its Capital Projects team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to mechanical engineers and designers, designing and coordinating building systems across all 7 IU campuses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop project scope, prepare cost opinions and specifications, and complete project implementation, partnering with CPF colleagues in Architecture, Construction Management, Real Estate, Facility Operations, and Administration.
  • Assist in long-range planning and budgeting, ensuring alignment with university standards and goals.
  • Provide review and critique of design work performed by outside consultants, ensuring compliance with university standards.
  • Prepare design documents (plans and specifications) for building systems, considering current state and federal codes and design standards.
  • Manage assigned projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget and quality standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 4 years of experience in facilities management or engineering.
  • 1 year of management experience in a relevant field.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to be insured by Indiana University.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Indiana Professional Engineer License.
  • LEED Accreditation.
