Key Responsibilities- Inventory Management: Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies to minimize waste and maximize sales.
- Labor and Expense Management: Manage labor costs, payroll, and expenses to meet annual budgetary goals.
- Visual Merchandising: Create visually appealing displays to enhance the shopping experience and drive sales.
- Marketing and Sales: Collaborate with leadership to promote company marketing programs, sales, and branding initiatives.
- Point of Sale (POS) Management: Ensure accurate product setup, item tree display, discounting options, and operator security.
- Procurement and Logistics: Work with management to procure equipment, retail soft goods, and accessories, and assist with logo apparel design and branding.
- Inventory Reconciliation: Match and reconcile invoicing, orders, and conduct monthly retail inventories.
- Team Leadership: Lead Retail and Lodging Supervisors and teams to ensure high standards of performance and execution.
- Housekeeping Standards: Ensure optimal housekeeping standards in rooms for cleanliness.
- Communication: Communicate issues to teams and maintenance regularly.
- Maintenance Management: Oversee routine and non-routine work order entries into Maintain-X PM with associated expenditures.
- CAPEX Projects: Support onsite CAPEX projects and provide information to facilitate onsite access.
- Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Oversee the IPM program and ensure compliance.
- Maintenance Manager Support: Support the Maintenance Manager in delivering upon required standards for backup generators, power, emergency actions, hazard/universal waste, JSA/JHA, OSHA, SPCC, and other programs.
- ESQ Tools and Resources: Work with management to procure ESQ, environmental, sustainability, safety, and quality tools.
- ESQ Committees: Lead the ESQ safety, environment, and quality committees in reporting Visitor Satisfaction and ESQ Scorecards, demonstrating actions for continual improvement.
- ISO/ESQ Compliance: Work with HR, GM, and teams to ensure the implementation of ISO/ESQ compliance actions, supporting targets, and objectives, training programs, and systems of monitoring and measuring set forth in company strategic plans for ESQ and NPS.
- Employee Relations: Work with GM and HR to implement employee relations, performance management, hiring and recruitment, team development and training, department meetings, accountability, coaching, rewarding, and communicating strengths and weaknesses and overall professional development.
- Employee Issues: Document employee issues and manage accordingly based on policy and procedure, working with HR to administer standards consistently.
- Staff Experience: Promote an overall enjoyable staff experience by implementing positivity and fun in daily operations.
- Emergency Action Plans: Work closely with HR Manager and GM to oversee operations, emergency action plans, and coordinate on-call MOD schedules.
- Departmental SOPs: Post all Departmental SOPs, records, and reports into SharePoint, ensuring document and version control.
- Training and Development: Work with HR and Dept Managers to support the Training Emergency Drills, OSHA, and ESQ Training Talk programs and coach ESQ committees and supervisors.
- Rewards and Recognition: Work with HR to implement the rewards and recognition program, employee of the month/quarter/year, and performance management standards.
- National Park Service Partner Meetings: Attend and participate in National Park Service partner meetings, prepare to discuss agenda items, and follow up on action items.
- NPS Evaluations and Inspections: Prepare the departments for NPS evaluations, environmental and safety regulatory inspections, local, state, and federal agency inspections, and ISO audits, executing on standards, programs, documentation, and records at all times.
- Communication and Response: Regularly take incoming calls from internal teams, respond to emails efficiently, and promptly respond to these communications.
- Emergency Manager: Perform the task of Emergency Manager with efficiency, communications, transparency, and respond promptly.
