Position Overview:

The role involves overseeing the entire supplier management process, which includes identifying and validating new sources, managing ongoing supplier performance, implementing corrective actions, and phasing out suppliers when necessary.

Develop and execute strategic plans by gaining a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics, as well as detailed knowledge of suppliers, their product lines, and manufacturing techniques.

Lead initiatives aimed at cost reduction and continuous improvement to achieve or exceed standard cost objectives, purchase price variance targets, quality benchmarks, and service expectations.

Utilize appropriate procurement methods to enhance flexibility while minimizing acquisition costs and associated risks.

Engage in negotiations regarding pricing and terms to ensure mutual benefits, document agreements, and monitor supplier performance closely.
Address delivery and quality challenges, service issues, and cost concerns through effective problem-solving and supplier performance enhancement.
Assist in identifying and eliminating non-value-added processes within the supply chain.
Identify, assess, and cultivate qualified suppliers on both domestic and international fronts.

Required Qualifications:


A Bachelor's Degree, ideally in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management/Procurement, or Engineering, coupled with several years of sourcing experience, particularly in Mechanical components or Chemicals.

Certifications such as CPIM, Lean Systems, or Six-Sigma are advantageous.
Exhibits strong project management, analytical, organizational, and negotiation capabilities. Manages a diverse array of tasks, including complex day-to-day sourcing activities for specific item categories and suppliers.

Proven ability to plan and prioritize multiple projects from inception to completion, delivering work efficiently and accurately within set timelines while adapting to evolving business landscapes.

Demonstrated capacity to drive outcomes, juggle multiple priorities, and adjust to changing business conditions.
Experience in collaborating with distributors and production suppliers. Responsible for developing and launching new supplier relationships and projects.
Adept at evaluating suppliers' processes and capabilities. Accountable for managing and resolving intricate issues related to Supplier Management, Continuation of Supply, and Savings initiatives. A collaborative team player with a proactive approach.
Proficient in ERP Software (preferably SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Access). Strong expertise in working with spreadsheets and a solid understanding of financial concepts and data.
