Job Title: Child Welfare Advocate

Lutheran Social Services of New York is seeking a skilled Child Welfare Advocate to join our team. This is a full-time/part-time position that requires working with unaccompanied minors in immigration custody.

About the Role:

The Child Welfare Advocate will be responsible for ensuring the well-being and safety of the minors in our care. This includes supervising young persons at all times, performing duties of caring for children, and guiding them on activities of daily living.

  • Monitor and supervise young persons at all times.
  • Assist in meal preparation and ensure proper maintenance of food safety certifications.
Responsibilities:

The Child Welfare Advocate will also be responsible for:

  1. Recording all pertinent information in applicable databases and logs.
  2. Documenting and reporting all major and minor incidents in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
  3. Providing a stable, abuse- and drug-free environment.
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • A High School Diploma/GED or relevant certification.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
  • Literacy in English.
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $21-$22 per hour, based on location and experience. Additionally, the successful candidate will be offered a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
