Job Summary

The Access Services Representative 1 plays a critical role in ensuring seamless patient registration and financial clearance processes. This position requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in obtaining and verifying patient demographics and insurance information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration and Insurance Verification: Conduct thorough patient interviews to obtain demographic and financial data, and verify insurance benefits to ensure accurate registration and billing.
  • Patient Flow and Process Improvement: Register patients at multiple locations, work multiple areas within the department, and identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance revenue cycle functions and the patient experience.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Interact with various departments and areas to provide timely information related to patient delays, schedule changes, and other relevant issues.
  • Financial Clearance and Collections: Verify patient eligibility for insurance coverage, calculate and collect patient liability, and negotiate payment arrangements as needed.
  • Cashiering and Patient Assistance: Perform cashiering responsibilities, provide directions and medical mobility assistance to patients, and adhere to compliance requirements for patient safety and identification.
Requirements
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess good listening and communication skills, professional telephone etiquette, and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor in high-stress environments.
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and maintain accurate records.
  • Technical Skills: Possess basic computer skills, Microsoft Office proficiency, and excellent data entry and typing skills.
