Position Overview

The Chronic Hemodialysis Registered Nurse is tasked with delivering comprehensive hemodialysis care, formulating nursing care strategies that encompass assessment, planning, execution, evaluation, training, and education. This role involves effective communication with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret, modify, and finalize patient care strategies, while also contributing to research initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
The Hemodialysis Registered Nurse plays a vital role in assisting the unit management team to enhance quality, patient satisfaction, staff development, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing safe and effective patient care in accordance with established protocols and regulations.
  • Administering age-appropriate care to patients, ensuring adherence to state licensure requirements.
  • Performing technical skills related to hemodialysis treatment and emergency procedures as per competency assessments.
  • Monitoring patient conditions pre and post-treatment, and reporting any issues to the charge nurse.
  • Documenting all relevant patient information accurately in both manual and electronic records.
  • Participating in the development and revision of nursing care plans, setting both short and long-term objectives.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge in dialysis care.


Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A degree from an accredited nursing program; a Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field is preferred.
  • Approximately one year of nursing experience, with hemodialysis experience being advantageous.
  • Current state nursing licensure.
  • Successful completion of a training course in hemodialysis theory and practice.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
