About the Opportunity

Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota is seeking a seasoned development professional to drive philanthropic and grant-based revenue growth as our Chief Development Strategist. This key leadership role will oversee comprehensive development programs, ensuring strategic plans are successfully executed and foster a culture of philanthropy within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an annual development budget, including revenues and expenses, and monitor results to evaluate performance against budgets and plans.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with internal departments to ensure aligned strategies and tactics.
  • Support the Board Advancement Committee in partnership with the Executive Director, driving major donor engagement and stewardship.
  • Lead a team of development professionals, providing clear direction, motivation, and accountability for achieving annual goals.
  • Oversee leadership giving, annual fund program, peer-to-peer fundraising events, planned gifts, corporate philanthropy and sponsorships, foundations, and government grants.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, new technologies, and best practices to ensure long-term donor sustainability.
  • Serve as an ambassador for EFMN, providing knowledge and support to donors, clients, and the community.
Donor Relationship Management
  • Develop and execute a donor stewardship plan, ensuring impactful and meaningful recognition for individual and corporate donors at all levels of giving.
  • Cultivate a portfolio of 35-50 major individual donors, securing personally meaningful annual gifts.
  • Pursue 100% participation from EFMN's Board of Directors, fostering a culture of philanthropy.
  • Engage and build relationships with foundation partners, corporations, and other organizations to maximize revenue opportunities.
Development Operations
  • Ensure timely and accurate tracking and reporting of progress through the Development Dashboard.
  • Oversee donor data management, ensuring accuracy and completeness in organizational systems.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of development experience with demonstrated success in planning and executing fundraising programs.
  • Demonstrated skills in effective relationship management, leadership, and communication.
  • Ability to form relationships with high-level supporters, safeguard confidential information, and work collaboratively within a diverse team.
  • Strong IT skills, experience with Salesforce or similar databases, and aptitude for working with e-resources.
Estimated Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 per year
