POSITION SUMMARY:
Pyramid Healthcare Drivers play a vital role in delivering outstanding behavioral healthcare services. They are often the first and last point of contact for our patients, making their role crucial in providing a welcoming and safe environment. The drivers are tasked with transporting patients to various clinical and support services while maintaining a high standard of customer service. Additional responsibilities include the upkeep and sanitation of vehicles to guarantee a secure transport setting for both patients and staff.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in patient care or transportation, is advantageous.
LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION:
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Completion of a CPR course is required within the first month of employment.
- Participation in various safety training sessions upon hiring is mandatory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely transports patients to and from behavioral health services.
- Ensures a secure environment for patients, colleagues, and self.
- Maintains positive and professional communication with team members, patients, and families.
- Proactively delivers exceptional customer service, even in challenging situations.
- Familiar with all functionalities of the client transportation system.
- Provides appropriate safety oversight and monitoring for all clients during transport.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and staff.
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Must be prepared for frequent extended transport duties.
- Capability to remain seated for extended periods.
- Excellent customer service aptitude.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Engagement with patients in a variety of situations.
- Potential exposure to patient-related elements.
- Ability to manage emergency or crisis scenarios.
- Subject to frequent interruptions and multiple inquiries.
- Occasional irregular hours may be required.
- Must be ready to cover for absentee replacements on short notice.
- Personal protective equipment (such as masks) is required during patient transport.
